Hi Kelly. There is a wonderful grief center in your area that works with families and I bet they have something for people who have lost their spouse but didn't have children. It's called the Dougby Center and it's nationally recognized-I'm not sure what part of Portland it's in, but your local hospitals should know of it- contact a chaplain at the hospital if it isn't listed. Often the second year is as hard as the first in different ways- everyone expects you to be better but your life is so fundamentally different and people just can't understand the depth of your life and that you lost your whole future, all your dreams, your buddy, your history. A year is not enough time to integrate all that. A group might be just right for you now. Let me know if you find it.
