Dear James and Nancy,

Grace and Peace! It will not come for some time. Grief is painful and sometimes hurts too much to bear. I thank the Lord that you are not alone in your grief. On August 21st, I will be 17 years further down the road from a similar loss. Even out of something so horrible and unthinkable, there has been knowledge gained and insight given. Surely you can understand that I would not wish insight gained in this manner on my worst enemy, but still there is insight and I am glad to have it. I have come closer to understanding the perfect love that God has for each of us. No one is irrelevant, no one is without value in his sight, and his loving arms await us all. I pray that you will be comforted by the knowledge that your daughter is with her Loving Creator no matter how much you would prefer her here with you. Even if you get all of the scientific facts about her death and, if appropriate, the guilty person is caught and punished, this knowledge is still the only true comfort.
